May God bless all you FREE Irish Genealogists!

First off: all female names are maiden names unless otherwise designated.

I have a grandmother, Mary Lydon, born 29 Sep 1881 in Kinvara, County Galway (see attached civil birth certificate). Mary's sister, Bridget Lydon, was also born in Kinvara, 2 Jul 1883. Their father was James Lydon from County Galway and their mother was Honoria Fahy.

I am unable to find  the other siblings who would be my great uncles and great aunts, or also my great great grandparents. All I have as records are my grandmother, Mary Lydon's, civil birth certificate, and her sister, Bridget's marriage record The family tree is what I am trying to find, but I can't find anything despite hese records and a subscription to Ancestry.com.

However, I know the descending family tree of my great aunt, Bridget Lydon. Bridget married Michael Joseph O'Kelly in 1911 in Dublin (see attached document). I was able to confirm it's correctness with Bridget's living grandson, Fabian Mary O'Connor, the son of Muriel E N O'Kelly. But no one knows anything more about Bridget and Mary's  siblings, or any ancestry beyond them. Can you all help me? I wish to visit Ireland to see the town and church of my ancesters, but I want to be sure of what I am doing.

One other question I had is when Bridget (Lydon) O'Kelly died in County Sligo, Ireland, where she lived her whole life after getting married in Dublin. Can you help me with that also? Her name truly was O'Kelly, because Michael is said to have changed his name from Kelly to O'Kelly in order to make his name more Irish.

I hope the attached documents help. I don't know if they are directly linked to my relatives. They are just the attempts at researching my relatives. I will continue to work with you if I can if you respond. Thank you so very much. You should check out the free YouTube movie: Roan Innish. It is sweet and very, very Irish and was filmed in western Galway!

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie

I located a church marriage record but apparently there is no related civil record. The church record fortunately has the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. See below.

I searched from 1880-1890 and did not find any other civil birth records for children of James Lydon and Honor Fahy. Are your sure there were other children and what were their names?

When did Bridget O'Kelly die? There are too many Bridget Kelly deaths to sort thru.
