Roger Cleary/daughter Catherine Cleary born Circa 1798 in Tipperary marries Michael Connolly born C.1784

I searched on two subscription sites (FindMyPast.ie and Roots Ireland) and found one marriage for a Catherine Cleary and Michael Connolly. The date may be too late.

Marriage date July 24 1838 RC parish in Tipperary town Catherine Cleary and Michael Connolly Witnesses Thomas Grady and Mary Bourke

Have you considered DNA testing? You may get matches with 3rd or 4th cousins who have more info on the Cleary and Connolly families.

Thank you so much for your research.

On my tree I have their marriage as circa 1823 Tipperary.

Next they have a child, Bridget, born 1842 in Penrith, NSW, Australia.

I think it's strange that they took 19 years to have their 1st child.  Although there is the possibilty that other children born before 

Bridget had died.  

Your year of 1938 seems more viable as it assumes they married and then headed to Australia.

I presume I got my date through some Certificates that are now packed away and need to be gone through again.

As yet I haven't done my DNA, but hoping to sooner than later.

FURTHER UPDATE

Your reply encouraged me to do further searching.  I found the Immigration record for Catherine & Michael on 6 Nov. 1841, arrival in NSW on ship "Larne".  Catherine's birthdate is 1814 and her father is Rory (not Roger).  Surname given as Clarey, but could be clerical or accent error.  Her mother is Catherine.  Michael birthdate is about 1807. His father is Patrick and mother is Ellen.  Michael is a Farm Labourer and Catherine is Dairy Servant.  Both R.C.

Residence:  Ballyhurst, Tipperary.

They have 2 children Ellen born 3/4/1839 and Catherine born 7/7/1840.

These 2 children tie in with the records I have but I did not know their dates of birth and presumed they were born after Bridget.  But Bridget was born 1842.  I presume Catherine must have been born just prior to leaving or on board the ship.

Roger, this gives me a lot to work on and I still believe your marriage date may be correct.  I'm not sure how I got those dates of birth and marriage - I will have to backtrack.
