Back at the time of Griffiths(1852?) there were five families whose surname was Rohan who lived in Deelis. Among them was Timothy Rohan, my great great great grandfather. The others were Michael, Patrick, John and Honora. All but Honora leased their property from John Bateman. Honora leased hers from Timothy Rohan. I'm curious about John Bateman; was he locally important; did he own a lot of the land and if so, how did he come to possess it. I'm also wondering about Honora Rohan.
I have theorized that all of the Rohans in Deelis were somehow related to one another but proving that is another matter. There is also a strong connections amongst those Rohans with my birthplace of Holyoke, Massachusetts.
For reference, Timothy Rohan married Johanna Moore( Arraglen) in 1846 and they had one daughter Honora.
Any information would be useful at this point.
