I can't explain the 3 Johns as I checked for death records but there are none that match. Transcription error perhaps - could one be her sister Mary?

The Irish Censuses are free online at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/. There are 316 Ruanes in Galway in the 1901 & 344 in 1911 - you might want to look for Pat & John(s) to see if they married and had families

Matt, one other idea: the National Library of Ireland website has the R C parish registers free to search https://registers.nli.ie/

The Gort baptisms are there up to 1881 so might be worth a look; they are the originals and can be hard to decipher however
