Hi, my grandfather Michael was born in Doon circa 1904 to Patrick Ryan Simon and Margaret Green. They had another 6 children Kate, Bryan, Patrick, Nora, Bridget, Simon. Looking for information in relation to Greens, Ryan Simons in general.
Thanks

  • Hi Christina, I am aware that my great grandmother Margaret Ryan nee Greene died around 1906 so at time of 1911 céncus all the children were either with a relative or industrial school. Do you know if there is graveyards in Doon, Glengar etc that were in use in early 1900s other than Doon cemetery? Also, do you think kids went to National Schools back then and I wonder is there any records? Thanks

  • Hi again Liam,  Records of children attending some National School,s were recorded, usually kept in Branch Libraries, Will try and find more on this.

Records for the Graveyard in Doon village St Fintans, as well as Towerhill on Historicgraves.ie free to access.  There was no graveyard in Glengar, but there was one in Hollyford

not  recorded  Kilcommon, Morroe and Abington, on Tipperary Studies Digitisation project free to access.

Did you find your family on the 1901 census.
