I searching for information about my ggg grandmother Margaret Kennedy according to her death record she was born November 27,1833 and died 1903 in Sacramento, California. I visited the church and cemetery where she is buried and found one church record that says she was a native of County Limerick. Not sure when she emigrated, but she married in 1851 to Timothy Frawley in Boston, MA. She was in California by the 1860's and married my ggg grandfather Peter Hannon in 1863. I do know her father's name was John Kennedy.

My family and I will be in Ireland for the first time in about a week. I would love to find out any information if possible.

    Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.

    There are some baptism records for a Margaret Kennedy whose father was John Kennedy born between 1828-1837 in County Limerick, but there is no definite year of 1832 or a month of November.  Did Margaret have a sibling?  If so, that might be very helpful information.  The parishes for a Margaret Kennedy baptism during the above years are:  Doon, Shanagolden,  Newcastle West, St. John's (Limerick City), St. Michael's (Limerick City), Murroe, and Bohermore/Ballybricken. 

    If you have any further information--particularly a mother's name or a sibling's name, that would be very helpful.

    I'm not sure of any siblings or mother's name...unfortunately. Not sure if this might help, her children with Peter Hannon were- Margaret (Maggie) Hannon, Emmet Hannon, Mary Hannon...my gg grandmother and William Hannon. My gg grandmother Mary named her only daughter Margaret as well.

    Heading to Ireland October 15/18. 

    My ancestor is Michael Kennedy born 1820  

    Ireland. I found a Michael Kennedy born 1820  Birr Civil Parish, County Offaly. Father Janes mother Catherine. I don’t have any proof that he is my Michael. My Michael immigrated to Brooklyn, Kings, Brooklyn, New York.

    Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.  Do you have the name of Michael's parents or any other information that might indicate a county?  If you do, please reply to this thread. 

    Alternatively, as you will be coming to Ireland next week, I will forward this information to one of our volunteers in the Birr area who may be able to assist.  As you noted, there is no proof that the Michael born about 1820 in Birr is your Michael.
