Searching for origin of first name “Rudgil”

Hi Stephanie,
What was Grandfathers surname and can you let us see the earliest document with this name on please.
Up to now various spellings show origin as Demark, Russia, Norway, Germany and differnt places in Ireland.
We have to be aware of spelling mistakes in searching sites, I like to see the original document and/or surname.

His last name was Smith.  He was born in Tipton County TN in 1898.  His mother's maiden name was Yuell or Yewell.  I have found his mom's family  in Scotland but his dad's family are supposedly Irish.

Sorry but no records.
There is only one tree in Ancestry with Rudgil, the tree owner is in Indiana.
She has Ewell, the earliest who was from this side of the world was in 1641 a James Ewell and he was from Kent.
Also Smith the earliest is from Lancashire, England in 1629. he went to the USA.
You would have to look at her tree.
