    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I see two possibilities in Trim RC parish on Roots Ireland. However, the Trim baptismal records start in July 1829 and if Patrick was born before that date then a record will not exist. You will need to get some other evidence that would show his parents names.

You may want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

We also have an XO Chronicles site where you can add the story of your ancestor who left Ireland and possibly someone will recognize the family and comment. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

  • Hi and many thanks for your interest, Roger. I am sure he was bor after 1829 for the following reasons. His death (1907) certificate & newspaper death notice has him age 78, making birth year 1829. NB: Headstone description says he was 72, meaning he was born in 1835. QUite a discrepancy. He's definitely from Trim, because his headstone says so. Unfortunately I can;t find any passanger record for him. It would have been between 1829 and his marriage in Sydney in 1866. Probably closer to 1866 as they didn;t wait long after arrival before marrying. I thought I could match his children with the two records you found but they don't give much of a clue, as his children included a Margaret and a John but both your sets of parents have those names. Regards, Greg.
