Hello everyone,
I am putting together some information on Jesse St Aubyn who was born in England, most likey in 1875. In 1903 he married Margaret Scott the Ladies Maid of the Dowager Countess of Clancarty in Loughrea, Co. Galway. On the marriage cert he is listed as being the Butler in the same household and they are both Church of Ireland. He is not the Butler in the 1901 census so he must have come to Coorheen House sometime in those 2 years. The couple are recorded in the 1911 census in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. At this time Jesse was working as a photographer. His father is listed on the marriage cert as E.C. St Aubyn, a dentist. There are no death certs in Ireland for the couple so it seems like they must have left the country, probably back to England. Here is Margaret's work in progress profile,

I would love to find out more about the couple if possible. Do you have any St Aubyn relatives or a great grand uncle that left for Ireland to work as a Butler? Any leads greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Valerie.

might be of interest - 1891 England Census shows a possible match for your Jesse's father in Brighton, Sussex - see 18 Grafton Street (familysearch). The household seems to be some kind of boarding house. Amongst the boarders are an Edmond C. St. Aubyn age 38 born London, occupation dentist, his wife Margaret, and a son age 4 named Kenilworth. FamilySearch have transcripts of a number of the English census returns, so might be worth checking for the family in other years. To see the census images you would need to join one of the commercial web sites with these - e.g. FindMyPast, Ancestry etc

Thank you all so muchfor your help, that's fantastic. It certainly seems to be an unusual situation. I'll try to piece all of this together to get a better picture of Jesse and his family.
Thanks again
