Do you have any other information on Michael that you can share? Have you any documentation that mentions a place name in Ireland? Ideally what you need to start your search is the name of a parish so that you can search the parish church records. However, a townland/village/town name would even be helpful.

Do you know much about his emigration? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure. If you knew which city he arrived at it could be a place to find more information-and perhaps evenan exact place of origin.
