I am looking for the origins of my maternal great-great grandfather, not much about whom is known prior to his marriage.  I've found only a few relevant documents:

24 Jan. 1858, Boston, married Johanna Lynch, formerly of Kilnarovanagh, Kerry.  His parents are cited as John Lane and Catherine, and witnesses were Patrick Lane and Mary Lynch. He was 23 years old, so this birth year would have been 1835.

2 Nov 1860, Boston, Naturalization.  This date corresponds to that cited on two San Francisco voter registrations. Says he was from Kerry, arrived as a minor, had lived in Boston for 1 year, and as sponsored by Michael and Timothy Clifford, who had known him for 5+ years.  This document also states that he was born on 10 Oct 1836, and arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on 18 Jun 1852.

1860 Census, Boston, Ward 9.  Eldest son, John, and wife, Johanna, also listed.  Timothy's birth year is cited as1835.

1863, San Francisco.  Birth of first of second child, Nellie.  Six more followed, all died in San Francisco, as did Johanna.

1870 Census, San Francisco.  Timothy's birth year is cited as 1837.

14 Oct 1873, San Francisco, CA, death.  Native of Ireland, age 39, making his birth year 1834.  Initially buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San Francisco.  "Removed" to Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA in 1940.

In addition to searching many source for John Lanes married to Catherines with a son Timothy and coming up cold, my brother and I, as well as my Irish mother's brother and sister have done autosomal DNA testing with Ancestry, and appropriate Y- and mt- DNA testing with FamilyTree.  None of the matches have resulted in anything definitive, though my uncle has a 3-distance match with Michael Leane in Killarney, so we're pen pals, but can't make an ancestral connection. Finally, there are many Griffith's Valuation documents showing John Lane and Michael, Timothy and John Clifford farming near each other, with the largest concentration in the Iveragh Peninsula.

Any help or hints would be appreciated!!!  Thank you so much!!!

    Hello again!

I found the record below on the subscription site Roots Ireland. See below. Although the first name of the mother is not Catherine and the date of baptism is in March, there are some interesting items in this record. The father of Timothy was John and his eldest son was John. Also, Killarney is the RC parish.
