I'm trying to find information on Robert Speer. He was probably born around 1792 and possibly was married to Anne ??
They had children: Thomas b. 1814 (my gg grandfather), Isabella Catherine b. 1822, Robert b. 1824, John James b. 1826 and Eliza Mary b. 1829. All the children were baptised in Lack. I know that my gg grandfather, Thomas b. 1814, was married to Jane Breen and it's from the marriage certificate that I got his father's name as Robert. There is a possible death for Robert of 1869 in Irvinestown but this is as far as I can get.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

The tithe applotment records for 1828 list a Robert Spear farming in Lack townland:

He’s still listed there in Griffiths Valuation (1862). He had plots 14 – 16 a total of about 29 acres.

In the Valuation Revision records on the PRONI site, his name is deleted in 1872 and replaced by a John James, suggesting Robert had died. Griffiths clerks often took a year or two to pick up changes so the 30.5.1869 death you have found might be the correct one. If you have not already done so, you will need to pay to view it on the GRONI site, as deaths for 1869 are not available free yet.
Marriage here for Thomas Speer and Jane Breen. He was a widower and lived in Croneen Barr townland. That’s about three quarters of a mile from Lack. He is not listed in Griffiths in 1862 but seems to have returned later.
Thomas died 23.12.1903. Here he is in the 1901 census and his death:

Thanks so much for the information. Looking at the PRONI site where Robert's name is replaced by John James, it looks like the death I have for Robert in 1969 is possibly/probably the correct one, since he did have a son, John James. I will take your suggestion and pay to view it.
