Hello to all, During the lockdown, I was able to continue my research on my Morris ancestral line. Through my work on Ancestry.com,, I learned that one of my great-grandmother's ( Catherine Morris Hansen) siblings also immigrated to the US. THOMAS MORRIS, born on the 3rd of March,1861 in Gurteen, Gortnahoe, Ireland, the son of James MORRIS and Alice SHANAHAN. Thomas immigrated to the US, where he lived in Philadelphia, then in Dubois, Clearfield county PA. Thomas married Josephine WIEDERT in Elk county PA on the 26/10/1887. Thomas and Josephine Morris has 3 children, Alice,Cecilia and James Morris. Thomas passed away on 05:01:1947, at Dubois, Pennsylvania. I had some doubt in seeing the birth date written on the State of Pennsylvania death certificate ( birth date noted as 07/03/1867) and Thomas' Mum's name listed as Alice Shanon. Yet, I found Thomas' gravestone on Find a grave and it was clearly written that 1871 as Thomas' birth year and not 1867 as listed on the death certificate. Just to be sure, I did search for any possible James MORRIS/ Alice SHANON couple ( in the slim chance that there was another Thomas Morris with these names. I didn't find such a couple.
