Tithe Applotments 1825 and 1837 - Aghaloo parish

I searched the tithe applotment records for Aghaloo on this Co Tyrone board:

The results I got for searching Mullon in 1825 and again in 1837 are not identical. Several names have changed and there were more in 1837 than in 1825. So it looks like 2 separate sets of records to me.

Interesting, thanks.  I am particularly interested in Anaghmore so I looked at that townland and a couple of others.  Maybe I just happened to pick ones that were identical.  I was looking at photocopies of the original books in the PRONI electronic archive, rather than the transcriptions.

Yes I know the PRONI copies and sometimes use them when I am there. They take forever to download though and so I haven’t been able to compare these two, but I have certainly seen other parishes where the records were compiled for more than one year. It’s not that unusual.

If you have access to both sets of records, have you checked some of the other townlands I mentioned to see if the transcriptions are accurate? For example, is there a Pat Mullon in Edengeeragh in 1825 but not in 1837? Is James Mullon in Anaghcramp in 1825 replaced by Bryan in 1837? If so, that should tell you whether they are different sets of records.
