finding the orphan girls and reuniting families

I live in Western Australia and know of this sad part of history. Being a local means I have the local knowledge and the geography here, where records are and will happily research to help reconnect families. Please ask, I will whatever I can to help. Sending love across the world... let's help the girls return home.

  • Hi Lilly and thanks for the kind offer, I have been asked to look over older queries to see if I can assist. There are some books now on the various migration of young females I think, indeed some from here in Mid Louth, the smallest county in Ireland on an educationthe east coast benifited from some education thanks to a local landlord family Vere Foster, the HQ of the primary teachers here is called Foster House.

It might be seen more if you posted in some of the private Facebook groups on genealogy, each county appears to have at least two and indeed some even smaller groups, if you are aware of some of those in your area having arriving from a specific area you could try that first. Some groups are very active with a few thousand members, others in the high hundreds etc

    Thanks Again
