Nicholas White married Rose Farrell on 22 June 1835 at the Catholic Parish Clonbullage, Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin, County Offaly. Nicholas was born about 1810 in Ireland, Rosanna on 7 July 1818 in Ireland [date calculated from death date]. They arrived at New York in the United States of America on 11 June 1836 and settled at St. Louis, Missouri. Nicholas died there on 1 August 1876, Rosanna on 21 Aug 1898. Where were they born? Are there any cousins still in Ireland?

  • Betty:

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find a Nicholas White or a Rose Farrell baptismal record in Co. Offaly before 1820. Baptisms for the parish of Clonbulloge start in November 1819. Likely Rose and Nicholas were baptized in a church that no longer has records back to their baptismal date. I assume you do not have any parental information.

You may want to consider DNA testing. Possibly you will have matches that have more information on your White and Farrell ancestors in Ireland.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Thanks for checking. I scoured the early church records that I can find online. Haven't had any luck yet with DNA. That marriage record may be all I'll be able to get.
