I read there are some Askins' Families from Wickoff County, Ireland.Looking for info on Donald Askins born about 1785, left Ireland about 1800, settled near Baltimore, MD. USA. He disappeared on a business trip to New York in early 1800's. His son Daniel & family moved to Miamisburg, Ohio area about 1830.

More then likely the county you are refering to is county WICKLOW
As for the emigration of Donald to the USA in the early 1800's the crossing were hardly recorded as the Irish emigrants often traveled on non passengerships and did not need a pasport or had to get registered.
Most passenger records started to get recorded around 1820 but an ID was still not required till about 1900.
A birth registration of the son might give more information about his father Donald, am I correct to think that Daniel the son was born in 1803 in Maryland ?
