Our Weekly Chronicles Challenge is an open invitation to any of our members to create Chronicles around their family history and local connection to a particular parish.  We invite any member to add an XO Chronicle using the weekly prompts for guidance and assisting with creating XO Chronicles.  We will share these Chronicles on our website for all to enjoy.  Often, there are other members who are also researching the same family or local area and this can lead to sharing and collaboration.  Enjoy!

This week's prompt is The Workhouse.  As you may already have seen, we now have all 167 Workhouses created within the Building profiles of the XO Chronicles.  The Workhouse is a term that resonates with many of our members as so many families had some connection to their local workhouse at some point in time.  With this in mind, please feel free to create a Chronicle around this prompt.  Even though the Workhouse Building profile has already been created, there can be Ancestor profiles created through the various emigration schemes, or there can be Ancestor profiles created about those who worked in the Workhouse as well as those who may have been members of the Board of Guardians within the relevant Workhouse or its Union.  A Timeline event can also be created if the Workhouse closed, or if it was put to another use. We can then share these Workhouse Chronicles with all our members who may also use the prompt to add their own ancestors to the appropriate Workhouse.  You might also consider using the hashtag  #ChroniclesChallenge with your Chronicle.
