Clonakenny ICA is a member of the North Tipperary Federation.

The Guild was founded in March 1958 with Mrs. Cody as first President. The fee at that time was four shillings. It is now 50 euro.

The Guild today has 20 members, and it meets on the first Wednesday of every month at Lismackin Hall. We attend all Federation meetings and participate in their competitions. The 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Guild was celebrated with a dinner in the Gourmet Gallery, Cloughjordan. One of the founding members of the Guild, Mrs. Maureen Durack, was able to attend the dinner.

Each year we go on an outing. We also go to shows. We have been to see Daniel O'Donnell, June Rodgers and Angela's Ashes. We get a "Go for Life" grant annually, and we use this for activities like Yoga, Pilates, Bowling and Dancing. We also get a V.E.C. grant which we use for Computers, Cookery and Flower Arranging courses. We do a walk for Cancer Research every year, and we also fill shoe boxes for Team Hope.
One of our members, Kathleen Hennessy, has won at many competitions for her art and handcrafts. At our meetings we generally have a guest speaker and demonstrator; topics have included Citizen's Information, First Aid, Health Problems, Assertiveness, Safety in the home, Gardening, and Care of pets.

We have a lovely Guild and enjoy being members of the Irish Country women's Association
