St. Patrick's Well on Knockpatrick Hill.

St. Patrick is said to have been poisoned here by a druid and to have left a golden cup at the well. This cup stayed at the well until 1785.

During the World Wars, Foynes played a huge part in getting people from Europe to various destinations, especially Jews in WW2. It is documented that hundreds were flown into Foynes and transported to perhaps America or safe havens in Europe.
