There is much data to be gleaned that is free from the below site, (for instance under placenames search), a positional map is shown with a listing of Townlands or streets that might aid your search.

They are showing a Cushendall in the civil parish Layd. This search also show where possible records might be found.

I am the 5x Great Granddaughter of Peter via Alexander -->John Craig and Agnes McMaster-->James Alexander Craig and Elizabeth O'Hare.  James went to America in the 1860s and was married by 1871 in a Catholic Church to Elizabeth in Albany, NY.  He died in 1918 in Brooklyn.  

Have you done your DNA?  I've found a few definite Craig matches.  My GedMatch kit is A007977.

Thank you very much for this reply!  I have had a DNA test done through Ancestry.com that I will be glad to share. I am not sure what the GedMatch number means or how to compare it to mine on Ancestry.com. Do you have any ideas about how to do this? I also want to introduce you to Marise Craig - Marise is the wife of my first cousin, Bill Craig. Marise Is the master genealogist of our family And she would like to connect with you.  Her email is dhuincrag@gmail.com.  While very interested, I am more occasional in my attention to geneology at the present time.

I have found Marise on Ancestry and thank you for her email.  

GedMatch.com is a website where anyone from any DNA testing site can upload their raw DNA file  (in your case, from Ancestry).  You then are able to find many more matches from all over the world and they have a lot of tools that Ancestry lacks.  It's free to do and once you set up an account, there are very easy directions as to how to get your file uploaded.  I find that the combination of the two sites is very helpful.  

I've also uploaded my Ancestry file to Family Tree DNA (FTDNA.com), which is yet another database.  They charge a fee to unlock your matches, but it's reasonable.  So all of that off of 1 DNA test!!
