Dobbs

Hi,  My name is Jeanette and I'm a volunteer for IrelandXO.

Hoping to contact with other cousins is a great thing. If you could give a little data of your ancestors, it would help someone who is unsure if they might be a relation.  Are you just hoping to contact with any namesake of a Dobbs descendant  as in an "all Dobbs Call"?

Hi there! My name is Dan Dobbs, and the stories passed down from Dad's family are that we are somehow related to Arthur Dobbs, of Carrickfergus. I realize that this link is tenuous at best, and an outright fabrication at worst, but my wife and I will be visiting Ireland in May, and it would be neat to shake hands with a few 'distant cousins' while we were there!

I just joined last week and I am looking for clarification for the Dobbs family.  I understand that there are duplicates of Sir Richard Dobbs.  I am listing them all separately with their wives and, hopefully, we can get it straightened out.  Here is my line:

Dan,  You probably have seen it by now but just in case you haven't, Google Castle Dobbs.  There is a blog there that has the Dobbs and it has Arthur's line.  My line veers off or it's wrong.  I need to get it figured out.

I have done some research on the Dobbs family.  I'm not a descendant, and my coverage of them is a bit patchy.

Anyway, I have Richard Dobbs (c1660-1711) and two wives, but no son called Lodowick, so I was wondering what information you have about him?
