Dear Panel, I hope you can assist with my search, which, thus far has proved futlile. I am searching for a picture of my Grandfather, John Greer McAllister. He was born on December 14, 1875 to Thomas and Margaret (Mawhinney) McAllister. On January 12, 1900, he married, widow, Agnes (Davison) Howie. John resided at 29 Crosshill Road, Raloo, Altilevelly. He passed away on February 7, 1930 due to a blow in the head as indicated on his death certificate. He was a Member of Cedar of the Lebanon RBP86 and Raloo True Blues LOL55, Mounthill. I would be very appreciative if you can help me with my search. Thank you, Colleen (McAllister), Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Hi,
My name is Jeanette and I volunteer for Ireland XO.
Took a quick look at the 1901 and 1911 Ireland census for your family.

Sometimes in blended families the mementos transfer sideways to step-children as well as direct to children. You might need to trace each of the children within this blended line to locate descendants who might have the wanted family photographs. I was able to obtain many pictures of my great and 2xgreat grandparents from a second cousin this way.
Also contacting the Minister at The Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland, Raloo might give you a lead to a photo through perhaps the church or other family located in the area. The minister might perhaps be able to put you in contact with Lodge members who might be able to assist either with photo or other information from which to work with.

The minister was located through an article found at http://www.larnetimes.co.uk/news/local/combined-service-at-raloo-church-1-4098472 which you might also find interesting.
Joining the Clan McAllister of America http://www.clanmcalister.org might also give leads from which to locate relatives. They have lines from Canada as well as U.S.
Hope this all helps, Jeanette
