Hi, 

I am looking for information about the family of Lizzie Woodburn who I believe was born in Belfast in 1892. Her father was John Woodburn and her mother Elizabeth Batiste.

I know quite a bit about the Batiste side of the family but nothing about the Woodburns, so I'd be really interested if anyone could help me find out more about them.

Also in the next census I find Lizzie living with her grandparents on her motherside, in Lancashire, but no record of John or Elizabeth....so I'd love to find out what happened to them.

  • What might be Lizzie?s birth was registered in Belfast Apr ? Jun 1892 Vol 1, page 429.

    You can order a photocopy from GRO Roscommon for ?4 per certificate. Put the place, year, quarter (where there is one), volume & page number on the application form (anywhere). Don?t worry about leaving some boxes blank. You don?t need to fill them all in if you have the reference details. http://www.groireland.ie/ You have to post or fax the form to them but they will e-mail the copy certificate to you if you wish. Tick the relevant box on the form.

    Can?t see the parents in the 1901 census for Belfast, nor any deaths in Ireland for them up to 1901.

        I am Lizzie Woodburn's grandson. I have tracked  Elizabeth Batiste from birth to death but John Woodburn is more difficult. I'm very happy to share what I have with you, but I realise that some years have past since you posted on this message board. Let me know!

  • Oh my goodness Peter, I am very pleased to meet you. I'm still very interested in the family tree, just got a little distracted getting married and moving to Australia.
