Martin is a very common name in Ireland. Looking at the 1901 Irish census, there were 13,875 people of that name, of which 2170 were in Co. Antrim. To have a reasonable prospect of tracing the family we’d need to know their denomination and ideally some information on where they lived in the county. Not all parishes have records for the late 1700/early 1800s and so that will be another obstacle.
Failing that DNA testing might be another way of connecting with other members of the Martin family in Ireland.
