Hi there from Australia
Was wondering why my membership has been removed, was it because I hadnt used the site for about 3 months, if so must apologise- This afternoon I was trying to find my previous message on the site- as thanks to the reply given I was able to look up the Belfast Newsletter- was going to thank the person and ask another question for my GGGrandfather William Campbell- the info was on site about a week ago however now says membership removed when I browse through the memebers names .
Anyway have fouund William Campbell , Belfast Newsletter April 2 1830,-"for stealing Aug last year (1829) at Banbridge a sum of money from the person of Patrick Hillan- guilty and to be transported for 7 years"
Would I have to find who looks after County Down to see if more detailed records are available or the offence and / or trial
Thanks
George

Hi there
Thanks for your reply
My original message on 4 october was in part-
~~I am looking for info on my great great grandfather William Campbell b around 1811, was tried at Carrickfergus Castle 1 May 1830 for stealing tools and sent to Australia for 7 years aboard the convict ship Asia (8) aka Asia V(II). which sailed from Cork 6 August 1831 and arrived Sydney 2 December 1831
Reply came back dated 13 October which ended-
~~You may need a to get a researcher to look these up for you.
