My great great grandmother was Theresa Gribbin.  She was baptized at St. Patrick's in Belfast on March 1st 1832.  Her parents were John Gribbin (Gribben or Gribbon) and Elizabeth Brennon (or Eliza Brennan).

She had at least two siblings: - Henry, born around 1826 and John, born around 1829.

The family had moved to Liverpool by 1841.

Would love to know more about this family.

I would especially like to find the marriage record for John and Elizabeth, as this might help in tracking thier births.

Thanks.

The births and the marriage you are looking for are all before the start of statutory registration in Ireland (1864). So you are reliant on church records to trace them. I don?t think St Patrick?s records are on-line anywhere. However there is a copy in PRONI, Belfast so you could look for the marriage there, as well as the baptisms of any of Theresa?s siblings.

You may not get that much information from the marriage if you find it. RC marriage records for the 1820s & 1830s tend just to have the couples names and their two witnesses. No addresses, parents names or other information. That can be a bit of a stumbling block.

However, I'm not having much luck getting any further information about my Irish ancestors.

    Best regards,
