Hello

Thanks for reading this & if anyone has suggestions on what to do next, I would really appreciate it.

I'm seeking information on William Mccaughan b. approx. 1849, I've never found his birth record.  He married Sarah McMagh/McMath Dec 5, 1867 Saint James Presbyterian Church Ballymoney, Antrim, Ulster, Ireland.  Both interred in Knock Rd Cemetery.

They had 7 Children that I know of
John..went to Canada via England
Hugh..went to Canada via England, married Florance Smith, maybe children in England?
William James maybe went to Scotland, name changed to McGahan? unknown
Alice Knox married Richard Roxborough, went to Canada with children.
Dennis never married no kids, interred Knock Rd Cemetery
Samuel Knox never married no kids, interred Knock Rd Cemetery
Joseph married Agnes Leslie, stayed in Ireland, both interred Knock Rd Cemetery

On William's marriage his father is listed as Dennis/Denis M'Aughan/McCaughan,  Mother unknown.  I simply cannot find a Denis anywhere & have no idea where else to look.  There is a Denis M'Caughin that died in 1881 in Ballymoney but I still don't know if that would be him as I simply don't know what family he is from except for him being from Seacon according to family lore.  If that is him, he would be born about 1812.

On Sarah's marriage she is listed as a McMagh, but later on the children's birth records she is listed as McMath.  I'm assuming that it was the same name but it depended on who was writing it down.  I have not found her birth record b. approx 1846 Ballinteer, Dundrum according to family lore.  Her father is listed as William McMagh.  A guess would be that her mother's name is Alice as her only daughter is named Alice.  She also has 2 children with the middle name of Knox so maybe her mother is Alice Knox?  I also have found several McMath's that went to England & the name changed to McMarth I think, as in an English census one of the McCaughan's is staying with  the McMarth family member & is listed as a nephew.  So very confusing on the McMagh/McMath/McMarth names, with the McMarth in England just a guess that it was supposed to be McMath/McMagh.

Anyways, If any of this sounds familiar just give me a shout.  I've posted on the Ballymoney Ancestry thread online as well & have asked if there is anyone that is interested in volunterring to take a few photo's of the cemetery where they are all interred.  Mostly I am interested in any suggestions on where else to look.

Thank you for your time &  if I can help anyone just let me know.
Catherine
