We are currently trying to locate the above families and our family history, we have a copy of their marraige extract which lists some details, however we haven't had much success in trying to obtain further information to help us cement our lineage. These are the details we have off the extract: Solemnized at Lurgan in the Parish of Shankill County Armagh, No. 117 Date 10th Sept 1963 parties involved: William Greer and Anna Hannah Ages: 26yrs and 22yrs Rank or profession: Weaver and nothing listed Father's Name and Surname: James Greer and Thomas Hannah Professions: both were Weavers.
There are some other details on there as well, the signing of the wedding certificate was in the presence of James Greer (his mark) and Margaret Hannah (her mark).
We haven't been able to find anything about William's family other than his father's name, and the same with Anna's, we're guessing that Margaret may be a sister? We understand that the ages may be also incorrect as most people weren't able to correctly confirm their age.
The wedding took place in the Church of ireland Church as well.
We look forward hearing fromyou with regards to suggestions of where to look, we have tried numerous sites including PRONI and many others with minimal and unconfirmed results. We haven't been able to locate even William's birth, we also understand William may have had a sister called Elizabeth as an Elizabeth travelled with them on the ship "Light of the Age", arriving in Moreton Bay 27 Jan 1864, leaving either London or Clyde? on the 30 September 1863.

Have you tried looking in church records to see if you can find information that will help you? As the wedding took place in Shankhill it is likely that this is where Anna was from as generally weddings took place in the bride?s home parish. You could also try searching for record of the family in Griffith?s Valuation. This doesn?t offer any genealogical information however it can sometimes be used to tie a person to a specific place.

Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
