Hello. I have just joined this site. I am seeking information on the family of my great-grandmother, Margaret Perrin, who was born in Bagenalstown circa 1844-48. I have found parish records for her siblings, but not Margaret. Her father Walter's occupation is noted as 'servant' on the sibling's entries. I would love to confirm Margaret's birth details, also to glean who Walter may have worked for. Being born during the time of the famine, would his family have fared relatively well?
Margaret emmigrated to Australia in 1866, noting an uncle, James King, as a relative in the colony. I can find no information on him. Margaret's brothers Walter & William subsequently also emmigrated.
Can anyone shed some light? I would love to hear from you. I am trying to put some flesh on the bones of my ancestors, so any references to the life and times would be great.
Thanking you, Jenni from Australia
