Hello,

My grandmother, Elizabeth Mary Nolan was born, 12 Dec 1909, the 4th and last child of James Nolan and Mary McGrath. James Nolan was from Lockinbridge. My grandmother immigrated to NYC in 1930 where she met and married my grandfather, William O'Connor who was an Irish-Canadian immigrant himself.

I am searching for my Nolan-McGrath-King-O'Neill family. My grandmother's father died a month before she was born. The family lived on Philip St. in Bagenalstown.

Sincerely,

BarbaraJo O'Connor-Caisse

  • Hi Barbara,

Thank you for your query to Ireland Reaching Out. The first records you should immediately look at are the census records from 1901 and 1911. These are available for free online. By looking at the detail in these, it should give you many leads to look for more information.

Hope this is of some help.

    Kind regards,

    Sinead Cooney

  • Hi Barbara,

I found this site & your post via a gogle search. Not sure if this is the right way to respond so you can see this, but we are related. My Grandfather was your Grandmother's brother. His name was John and he was born in 1916. I too am trying to get my citizenship. Maybe we should share notes? Would be nice to get in contact with you & share stories & memories. Hope you see this & I hear from you soon, Judi x
