George McNamee(Apr 7, 1833 witness John McNamee and McNamee) Catherine McNamee(Sept 05, 1835 witness John McNamee adn Margaret Reehill) they had other children born in Montreal,Qc  I have these bapt certs from RootsIreland.  I can't find anything else about George McNamee or Ellen Rehill or if any of the family stayed behind.

There is A Frank McNamee and a George McNamee in the Parish of Urny in Tithe Applotments, I would think this is the same family.  Perhaps my George could be this George? and Frank his father?

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The 1856 Griffiths Valuation  for Urney parish did not show any McNamee records. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/cavan/urney.htm

The George in the Tithes is likely the 1805 George but the Frank could be the father but likely a brother (the witness on the marriage and one baptism was a Francis McNamee).

Civil registration of deaths started in 1864. I did not find a George McNamee civil death index record, however, I did locate a record for an Ellen McNamee who was born in 1795 and died in 1882. One caution. The registration district is shown as Granard and not Cavan. Granard registration district is mainly in Longford but there is a small sliver cutting across two civil parishes in southwest Cavan. This record may be for a different person. You can get a copy of the record from the General Register Office for around 4 euros. If you need instructions, let me know.

Thank you for getting back to me so fast.  George McNamee 1805, I did think this was him in the Tithes.  Frank McNamee could be a brother, On my tree I have George's father as Francis McNamee married to Jane Maguire.  Rehill, Maguire and McNamee families are mixed quite often.  But they are all listed from County Cavan, they were baptised in Annageliff and married there too.  The family emigrated in 1839 to Montreal, while looking up records I found this,

John Donocho Ireland Census, 1821 Name John Donocho Event Type Census Event Date 1821 Event Place Annagelliff, Cavan, Ireland Townland Aughnaglogh County Cavan Parish Annagelliff Relationship to Head of Household Brother-in-law Birth Date 1791

he had a sister,  Judith and I found this,

these people must be the same people?  Judith married to John Rheehill must be Judith Donoho?

    I have soooo many questions,

  • Cindy:

They do appear to be the same people. You may find the National Archives site easier to navigate the 1821 census for Aughnaglogh. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

  • Thank you Roger, for all your help.  It is greatly appreciated.  I often wonder if there are people there wondering about their family that left.  We search for our roots, do they search for the missing parts to their trees?  It would be nice to say, hey they made it and survived and many changed the history of another country.  :)

Generally, the Irish are not looking for descendants of ancestors who emigrated.
