Volunteers will need more info before they can see if they can assist you. When did Eward (or is it Edward?) leave Ireland for Canada. When did Mary die and was her surname McCrea or Campbell?

  • Hi Irene

I did a lot of searching with mixed success but then looked on ancestry.com and the McCrae public member tree has it all there for you.

If you don't have access I can attach it from my email to your email if you provide one.

  • Hi there, just discovered this, will you send me that info please, my email is ijmccrea@hotmail.com. My husband and I are still hopeful we can make it to where our ancestors lived. That would be Springtown, we believe it is between Kesh and Pettigo. We are in the process of researching for accommodations where we can immerse ourselves in the village/town for about two weeks, We can not rent a vehicle so are looking for a place where we can take a bus to where we might want to go. We aren't particularly interested n tourist things, just want to live the experience. Hubby is 80 now so am wishing I can get him there soon. His interest is looking through graveyards, church records and as I said living like the local in what we would dream would be a typical Irish cottage with a thatched roof. Asking a lot aren't we? Thanks for any help. We did however find out the McCreas go all the way back to Ilean donan castle in Scotland.
