I am looking for any information on a James Mooney born in Cavan circa 1800 (no birth certificate found yet). His father might be a Thomas Mooney, but that has not been confirmed. I"m guessing this because his first born son was named Thomas. His marriage license on 20 June 1831 in Glasgow, Scotland to Mary Mitchell states that he came from the Catholic parish of Kilann, civil parish of Baileieborough, County Cavan. If you know of anyone who may have information, please send them my way.

Hi,
I think this is my family ( my Father's side), I was there 30 years ago, visited my cousins, the Mooneys.
My paternal grandmother was Mary ( Margaret) Mooney, sister of Thomas, John and Kate Mooney. She came to US, married Michael O'Dea, (Galway) my Grandfather.
Let me know if you are still looking, we can catch up.
thanks,
Maureen
