Hello, everyone. I am trying to find more information on my great-great-grandparents, Edward Cusack and Mary Fitzpatrick Cusack, from Keadue. Their son, Edward Patrick Cusack, was my great-grandfather. He, along with many of his siblings, immigrated to Baltimore, Maryland, USA, in the late 1800's. He was one of about 8 siblings and I know one of the sisters who remained in Ireland married a man named Patrick Greenan and remained in the area to raise her family. The oldest child/sister, Mary, married a local boy named John Naughton/Norton, who was from Raheg. After they married, they immigrated to Ellicott City, Maryland, USA, with about 3 or 4 of their small children.
Any information on any of the three families would be greatly appreciated!
Kind Regards,
Ria Crocker

Hello, Rory.
Thank you for your reply. I have seen my families listed in the 1901 and 1911 census records in the link you sent -- but greatly appreciate you taking the time to help out. Huge thanks to you for reaching out to others in the parish to assist me!!
We went to Ireland 7 years ago and took a side trip to Ballyhaise. It wasn't until about 2 years later I discovered the family came from Keadue/Keadew and that we were oh-so-close!! :(
Thank you again, Rory, for your help!

Hi Ria.
Did you find anymore info on your Greenans? I am a Greenan. My Family came from Drung, neighbouring parish of Castleterra. I would think they are related, as there were only a few Greenans in this area.

Hi, Billy. Thanks for your response. If you get this multiple times, I apologize --- this site is hard to figure out for posting comments/replies!! Here is what I am very sure of: My g-grandfather's sister was Rose Cusack. She lived in Keadue and married Patrick Greenan (they were both born about 1866). The had the following children: Mary b. 1894, Edward b. 1896, Kate b. 1898, Patrick b. 1899, John b. 1900, Terence b. 1903, James b. 1905, and another John (?) b. 1907.
Does anyone sound familiar to your?
Thanks!
Ria

Still hoping to connect with someone regarding these families. I've found my Cusacks and Greenans on the 1901 and 1911 census records. Would love to discover a living cousin! My folks came from the area of Keadue.

Hi Ria, I am doing similar searching! I am trying to trace a Patrick Green back to Cavan. He was born in 1852 and lived in Seacombe, cheshire (Liverpool docks really). There was a old storey that his name was actually shortened from Greenan when he moved over in @1870. His father's name was Patrick Green(an) ( a farmer) too (got that from his marraige cert in 1880 but father was listed as deceased). The 1911 sensus states he was from 'Lyseanon' cavan but I have no idea where that is (anyone know?). So I presume his father Patrick was born in Cavan @1830. I did a search and there is no Patrick Green's but there is a Patrick Greenan @ that time. It's a tough one to crack with the absence of records from those times!!!
Any help greatly appreciated

Hello. I'm afraid the only Patrick Greenans that I'm aware of were born in 1867 and 1869 (County Cavan). Their father/grandfather was named John. Sadly, that is all I have, as I am related on the other side of the family.
