I'm looking for descendants of Thomas Brady who came to Canada in 1830. He had 5 children from his first marriage but his wife died before leaving Ireland. He settled in Alfred Ontario and married Mrs. Beers a widow who gave him 4 children- Francis, Andrew, Mary and Anna.
I've always lived in Alfred and what I know about Thomas Brady is what I've read in our parish 100th anniversary book. I have something that may be of interest to his descendants. But unfortunately, it would have to be someone who lives in Canada especially in Ontario or Quebec.

Dear Geny,
Brady is a common name and to locate any relatives we would need a townland( the place he live here), this may be found his headstones, perhaps a name of a house etc
1. I have looked up Ancestry & there are 3 possible matches, see below, I dont have access to further records in Canada, perhaps the sources listed are more accessible to you there.
2. Do you know did all the children go with him? Do you have any of their names, if so we could look for their possible marriages and deaths, as they may take us within the start of civil registration which started in 1864 records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). You can access the website here:http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm
3. Philip Donnelly runs a Irish Canadian website, while his family are in Co Meath it is beside Co Cavan and he has launched his books here in Bailieborough & perhaps through his contacts, may be able to assist you further details at http://www.donnellycanada.com
4. You could contact the local paper The Anglo Celt and send a letter to them, if there is a human interest story, they may publish it, email linda@ anglocelt.ie

Thank you very much for your help but I think none of these men is the one I'm looking for. I found a Brady who is related and I have been communicating with him. I have found these sites that may be of help to someone looking for ancestors who came to Canada and the US.
