Hi - thank you for your message. Do you know much about their emigration? The dates, the reason why they left, who they may have travelled with?..etc..Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at (e.g. Liverpool, New York, etc.), this could be a good place to find more information. -And perhaps even find out an exact place of origin.
If you haven't already, you might try some of the following:
The Library & Archives of Canada - http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/index-e.html
US National Archives/Immigration info: http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
The Boston Pilot; From October 1831 through October 1921, the Boston Pilot newspaper printed a ?Missing Friends? column with advertisements from people looking for ?lost? friends and relatives who had emigrated from Ireland to the United States. This extraordinary collection of 40,743 records is available here as a searchable online database, which contains a text record for each ad that appeared in the Pilot. http://infowanted.bc.edu/

This is my line also. There were 4 more children born after Catherine. Margaret's brother Robert was born in 1845 in Ontario. He was my GGrandfather. After him were Eliza Ann, Abraham Cook and William Cook. I have a lot of info on the descendents of each of them - may even have you in my family tree program. I can share all that I have in this line if you are interested.

I am related to the STRETTON family, but not descended from a STRETTON. My great great great grandfather Jacob COOK/E is believed to have been a brother to Mary (COOK) STRETTON. I would be interested in hearing from any COOK/E or STRETTON family member.

Yes, would love to hear more about your Cooke and especially anything that may move my search along. I am looking at the possibility of this family being from another county near Cavan? Not sure if I should post a personal email on here? I am leaving for England and France in 10 days, but will still be connecting with email.

I too wouild be interesting in hearing more about your Cook(e) line. If your Jacob Cooke is a brother of my GG Grandmother Mary Cook, their parents would be my GGG Grandparents who I have not been able to find. I see your e-mail address posted above, and if you'd like I can send you a Register Report for Robert Stretton and Mary Cook.

I'd love to receive some information about Robert STRETTON, his wife Mary COOK and some of their descendants--at least to compare notes. If you want to limit the report to your branch of the family, that would be okay for now. I look forward to communicating with you.
