The surname Owens is not very common in Co Cavan. In the 1901 census there just over 100 people of that name in the county. All RC.
The tithe applotment records for 1827 has Owens households in the civil parishes of Ballintemple, Crosserlough, Castleterra, Denn, Drumgoon, Kildrumsherdan, Killinkere, Lavey & Urney.
You could try searching the respective RC parish records to see if your family show up in any of those.

Part of the 1821 census of Cavan has survived. It’d be worth checking it. There are some Owen & Owens families listed.
