My name is Michael Patrick McDermott and my ggg grandfather Patrick McDermott came to the US from Parish Lavey, county Cavan. All I know is he was born in Lavey Parish,County Cavan about 1824. lived in New York, New York and was married to Catherine McCann in NY in 1843 moved to Dunbar Fayette Pennsylvania in 1870 had 11 cjhildren died in Johnstown Pennsylvania in 1984. I would love to find family in Ireland to connect with. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
