I am not sure, but suspect that my Terence Murphy may be from Templeport. He married Bridget Victory probably ca. 1820, had at least three children in Ireland (Patrick ca. 1823, Elizabeth ca. 1825, Francis ca. 1826), emigrated to Montreal ca. 1827, had three more children in Canada (Mary Ann in 1828, James in 1830, Catherine in 1832). Godfather of Mary Ann was John McGovern, who may be the same John who served in the British Regimental forces and was from Templeport. Godfather of James was a Francis Murphy (brother to Terence?) whose parents were Francis Murphy and Mary Riley of Co. Cavan.
Would appreciate connecting with anyone who can assist me in solving this. Thanks.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The RC parish records for Templeport do not begin until 1836 http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0852 so there are no Church records to search. I did look at the 1826 Tithe Applotment records for Templeport civil parish and there were no Terence Murphy records but there was a Frances (likely Francis) in Coralillion townland (actual current spelling would be Corratillian. Possibly this is where your Murphy's were from. The 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing also shows a Francis Murphy in Corratillan. See below.

Thank you, Roger. I was aware of the Francis Murphy records in Templeport, but of course have no way of confirming a connection to my Terence. The flaxgrowers list also contains a Francis Murphy in Co. Cavan. I guess the good news is that i know where in Cavan my Murphys were NOT from, and that is all the parishes for which 1821 census returns survived.
