My Great Grandfather was a John Baker born 26/12/1862 in Crusheen. He was the son of Michael Baker and Mary Cahir. He had 5 sisters Margaret, Mary, Agnes, Gertrude and Ellen and a brother Patrick. I beliece Ellen was born in Carhuceal in 1861. I would love to discover more about his parents and siblings. John left Ireland in 1885.

Kind redards

The 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Inchicronan civil parish shows that all the Bakers including a Michael lived in Carrowkeel Beg townland. Carrowkeel sounds like the townland you have for Ellen above.

RC records for Crusheen parish don't begin until 1860. Roots Ireland is just starting to add Co. Clare records and they do have the Crusheen records starting in 1860. There is an Ellen Baker baptism in 1861 in Crusheen with parents Michael and Mary. Also, found Patrick in 1864 but did not find John in 1862.

Roots www.rootsireland.ie is a pay site to view the transcription of the church record.
