Mesolithic period in Ireland

Thursday the 22nd of February at 8.30 pm at X-PO Kilnaboy

The guest speaker in the X-PO’s February heritage talk will be Killinaboy-based archaeologist Michael Lynch. Michael is field monument advisor for County Clare. He and his wife Clodagh have confirmed the presence of a Mesolithic settlement at Fanore…thus confirming that pre-farming communities did exist in County Clare.
 
The talk will give an overview of the Mesolithic period in Ireland approx. 10,000 to 6,000 years ago. The lecture will include a profile of the habitation sites, food sources and tools of the Mesolithic people in Ireland with particular reference to the recent Mesolithic discoveries at Fanore and Doolin in Co. Clare.

The talk will take place in the X-PO KiIlinaboy on Thursday the 22nd of February at 8.30 p.m. The X-PO is located in the former post office in Killinaboy.
