X-PO Killinaboy’s first lecture in its autumn/winter talk series is entitled “Searching for the Dreamtime in County Clare” – a celebration of myths, folklore and customs in the county with guest speaker Michael Houlihan.

A talk with Michael Houlihan


Thursday October 25th 8.30 p.m.

Michael is a Kerry native who has been living in Clare since 1977. He has an M.A. in Local History from U.L.

Michael’s publications include Puck Fair, History and Traditions ; The Holy Wells of County Clare and The Sacred Trees of County Clare. His most recent publication is called Searching for the Dreamtime in County Clare. The lecture will focus on myths, folklore and customs in landscape settings as diverse as fairy regions, water worlds, caves, uplands, peatlands and islands in the county.

The talk will take place on Thursday October 25th at 8.30 p.m. The event is free of charge. Donations to X-PO welcome. X-PO is a community hub located in the former post office in Killinaboy. More information 087 292 54 87.
