Meeres/Meers

Hi All

Patrick Meeres married Margaret Rinne/Rynne - when?- and they had a son John, birth date unknown. He married Ann Davis, father John and mother Judith Fa(he)rty, and they married in Corrofin, Clare, on the 9th Jan 1868.  They migrated to New Zealand. Several children were born in Ireland before the move, Martin in 9 Feb 1868, Mary 1871, Margaret 1874 and in New Zealand  James 1880 and Annie 1887. In Irealnd they moved around a bit. Martin was born in a place called Cooga Ruau - which possibly means - cross roads - and Patrick I think died in Killlinaboy c 1874 after living on a block of land owned by a Mary Meeres- sister?- just down from the cross roads near a church. The Meeres became Meares when they went to NZ, Martin lived with Charlotte Gullen of Limerick, and Martin assumed his mothers maiden name of Davis - of Bllyvaughan - and Galway.
