Hello,

I am seeking any information on a Michael O'Keeffe. I think once Michael migrated to Australia in 1856. he may have dropped one of the "F's" out of his surname. Michael was born in Kilnamona in 1837 and he left Ireland in 1856 with his first cousin Patrick O'Keeffe. We are not too sure if the information we have about Michaels parents is correct, but maybe his father was Thomas O'keeffe with his mothers first name being Ellen. . Michael married Catherine O'Brien from Co Tipperary in 1868 in Australia. Sorry, I have no further information, but Michael would be my Great, Great Grandfather.  Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to give me

Kind Regards

I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Kilnamona parish. There were no Thomas O'Keeffes listed but there were two Ellens listed. One in Ballyasheea townland and the other in Tooreen West townland.
If Thomas had died then Ellen would have taken over the land.
