Searching for any information about my paternal line. Michael Singleton born Kilrush 1840 ish, father John Singleton, Mother Mary. I have information about Michaels Royal Marine career and England census material from 1880 onwards. He appears with his Mother Mary and possibly a sister Bridget in Salford.
Any information about John, Mary, or Michael gratefully received

Further to above post, www.findmypast.ie has a Military record of a Private John Singleton who joined the Mlitary in Kanturk, Co. Cork in 1846. His birth date is given as 1826. He left the Military in 1867 with the intention of residing in Kanturk.
Is this man likely to be your relative?

Hi Hilary,
I attach a copy of the St. Senan's marriage record for 1847 which includes John Clements to Mary Shea - No. 1294 - and who would appear to have been the baptismal sponsors for Michael Singleton in Buttevant in 1851. This may assist in identifying your relative.
The "John Singleton" No. 2583 in previous post was returning to Michelstown, Co. Cork - Not Kanturk.
Regards,
McCoy
