I have finally found the last resting place of James Thynne of Killshanny 1826 to 1894. His wife Jane Thynne nee Stenson 1835 to 1908, his daughter Francis Jane Thynne 1865 to 1921, his Grndaughter Lillian "Leila" Emelie Thynne 1904 to 1918 and his sister-in-law Magraret Theresa Stenson 1845 to 1914. They are buried together in a family plot in Grange Cemetery in Edinburgh Scotland. The sad story of Lillian who died aged just 14yrs 9months was that her parents Francis "Frank" Thynne and his wife Mabel sent her to visit her Aunts in Scotland all the way from Minneapolis U.S.A only for her to catch influenza and die.    Tricia 73

  • Dear Tricia73:

Thank you for your post and the update.  That is a very sad story, but it is good that you have uncovered it for your research, and it may assist others who have the same mystery in their own family research.

Would you consider creating a profile for this family?  You can do so under the XO Chronicles and it is very easy to do.

If you need any help, please let me know.  You can email me directly at:  jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.

Thanks again for keeping us updated and for your continued interest in Ireland Reaching Out!

    Kind regards,

    Jane.
