Numerous Garveys and Marinans/Marrinans from Kilkee and environs traveled to the USA mid-1840s to 1900, settling in Davenport, Iowa and with descendants dispersed around the country. My gg grandparents, John Garvey and Margaret Marinan along with John's brothers, Michael and Simon and several members of Margaret's family are a part of a large family presence in Davenport.
