I am hoping that someone can help me, I posted in late June to the Portuma and XO Community and heard nothing yet so I think I am just going to add a few more details and maybe throw the kitchen sink in too!
I have a good DNA match on Ancestry to an Albert Trundle born Dublin 1937 his Mother was Georgina O`Connor born Eyrecourt, Galway 1899, her parents were Patrick Connor from Tuam and Mary Ann Burke, Galway. I have their marriage certificate dated 1893 in Eyrecourt, her Father is listed as Thomas Burke and his as John Connor. Mary Anne had a brother killed in first world war called Michael Burke who died in 1915 and left all his chattels to his sister Mrs Pat Connor , Rose Cottage Portumna.
I also have a 3rd Cousin DNA match in Boston USA who`s Great Grandmother was called Catherine Burke born Galway to Thomas and Mary Burke.
My 4-5th DNA match is to an Ethan Carroll who on his tree lists Mary Ann Burke`s Mother as Bridget Carkil from County Clare (lismoher) and Father Thomas Burke from Galway.
My Great Grandfather who I know little about was called Patrick Burke, Parents Thomas and Mary Burke, he on the 1911 Census in Manchester wrote that he was from Gorteenaveela near Ballinasloe as was his wife Caecilia Tierney.
Does this ring any bells for you lovely people?
Here`s hoping Diane

Hello,
There are a lot of names and information here, but it's not clear which direction you want us to go.
Do you want to go backward in time, looking for the ancestral place of origin?
Are you looking for information about Michael Burke, the soldier? About Mr. Trundle?
Some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Diane:
Thank you for your post to the IrelandXO message board. You have included a lot of surnames with different parishes, and it might be better to break up the message by parish.
Having said that, I can try to assist you with your Lismoher connection. Lismoher is in the Noughaval area of County Clare and the Roman Catholic parish for this area is Ballyvaughan which is in North Clare. The place where you might find more useful information is the Clare Library website and Ballyvaughan has a number of specific resources that are worth looking at. The civil parish is Drumcreehy, and this is useful to know for any further research where the civil parish is often used.
The link below will take you to the Drumcreehy civil parish page and you will note that there are some parish registers which have been transcribed as well as other records which may be helpful.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: tulla@irelandxo.com
All the best,
Jane
