The Tulla Reaching Out committee as part of the Ireland Reaching Out project have held a Weekend of the Welcomes since 2013. This event has fallen during Heritage Week as we encourage all to participate in the celebration of our local heritage and culture through a variety of events. The Ireland Reaching Out project seeks to re-connect the global diaspora with their ancestral parish. To date, Tulla Reaching Out has welcomed back more than 200 people from all over the world who can trace their ancestry back to the parish of Tulla. All events are free and we welcome all participants. Please join us for any event during the weekend.

Please join us for the Tulla Weekend of the Welcomes which will take place from Thursday 24 August through Sunday 27 August 2017 in Tulla parish.

The events will kick off with a lecture on Thursday 24 August at 8 pm at the Tulla Courthouse Upstairs Room.  Dr. Liam Chambers, Chair, History Department at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick will speak on "Religion, politics and family:  the O'Molonys of Kiltannon in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries".  Event is free and all are welcome.

Friday 25 August at 8 pm at Tulla Courthouse, Cuimhneach an Chláir will present the work that they have done in preserving the oral history and folklore of County Clare.

Saturday 26 August at 10 am at Tulla Courthouse, the Tulla XO committee in conjunction with the Clare Roots Society will conduct a genealogy workshop "Getting Started with Genealogy".  

Saturday 26 August  at 2 pm Bird Walk with Philip Brennan, Ornithologist.  Meet at Tulla Stables  car park. Suitable footwear required.

Sunday 27 August at 2 pm  Mass Rock Celebration at Loughaun.  Please join us as we celebrate the Mass as it was celebrated in Penal Times.  Follow R 462 north from Tulla to Mass Rock (sign on left).  Suitable footwear required.  Car parking available at top.
